How to split PDF in 3 steps

Choosing a split mode
Every page gives you one file per page, handy for scanned batches where each page is a separate document. Fixed size works for cutting a long report into chapters of equal length.
Custom ranges separate files with a semicolon. Within a range use commas and dashes, so "1-3, 7; 4-6" produces two files: pages 1, 2, 3 and 7 in the first, pages 4 to 6 in the second.
Only need some pages?
If you want a single file with certain pages rather than several parts, the Extract pages tool is quicker. To remove pages instead, use Delete pages.
Private by design
Split PDF runs as code inside your browser tab. The file you choose is read from your device and the result is built on your device, so it is not sent to our servers or anyone else's. You can confirm this by watching the Network tab in your browser's developer tools while you use the tool.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split a PDF into individual pages?
Choose "Every page into its own file". You get a ZIP with one PDF per page, named part-01.pdf, part-02.pdf and so on.
Will the split files keep their text and links?
Text and images are kept. Internal links that point to pages in other parts will no longer work.
Is splitting free for large PDFs?
Yes, with no signup. Very large files depend on your device memory since everything runs locally.
