Edit a PDF: add text, highlights and drawings
Fill in a form, annotate a document or cover a mistake. Click to type text anywhere, drag to highlight or white-out an area, or draw freehand.
This editor adds new content on top of the pages. It cannot rewrite the existing text inside a PDF; to change a sentence, cover it with white-out and type the new one over it.
How to edit PDF in 3 steps
- Choose your PDF.
- Pick a tool, then click or drag on the page. Use Undo if you slip.
- Press Save PDF to download the edited file.
Filling in forms
For flat forms that are not interactive, use the text tool to type into the empty lines and boxes. Adjust the size so the text fits the space.
White-out is not redaction
The white-out box paints over content, but the original text is still stored underneath and can be copied by someone with the right tools. Do not use it to hide sensitive information. To truly remove content, delete the page.
Private by design
Edit PDF runs as code inside your browser tab. The file you choose is read from your device and the result is built on your device, so it is not sent to our servers or anyone else's. You can confirm this by watching the Network tab in your browser's developer tools while you use the tool.
