How to Organize PDF Pages: Reorder, Rotate, Delete and Split

Tidy a messy PDF by fixing order, orientation and extra pages, using simple page tools.

Scanned and merged PDFs often arrive in a mess: pages out of order, some sideways, a blank sheet here and there. Fix them in this order for the least rework.

1. Delete what you do not need

Start by removing blank pages and cover sheets with Delete PDF pages. Fewer pages means less to sort.

2. Fix orientation

Pages scanned sideways can be corrected with Rotate PDF. Type the page numbers that need turning, such as 3, 8-9, and choose the angle. The change is saved in the file.

3. Put pages in order

Open Reorder PDF pages and drag thumbnails into place. A common scanner mistake is front sides first, then all backs; spotting that visually is easy.

4. Number the pages

Add page numbers last, once the order is final.

5. Split if needed

If the document really contains several separate files, divide it with Split PDF using ranges.

Work on copies

Each tool creates a new file and leaves your original untouched, so keep the first scan until you are happy with the result.
